Help Give Lil B the Opportunity to Perform at the Grammys

By Bryan Hood | NYU already loves him, as does the entirety of the Based World, but now, because of a Grammy-sponsored contest, the American public might get the chance to fall for the charms of the incredibly prolific, extremely positive, and very weird rapper Lil B. The contest, which is called The Gig of the Lifetime, offers lesser-known artists the chance to perform live at the Grammys festivities, according to Pitchfork. But unlike most of the artists listed, few have the diehard Internet following that the Based God has, one that makes calling himself a “Historical Online Figure” completely justifiable. Also, how many of contestants can claim to have written and published a book at 19, released not one but two classical music albums, and appeared on the first rap song ever recorded by a cat. He may not be the best artist up for the honor, but he’s definitely the most interesting, and almost surely the most earnest (is anyone else likely to tear up through their set and stop performing to preach the virtues of being nice and loving others?). So throw your support behind Lil B and vote for him in The Gig of a Lifetime contest – it’s probably the only way to ensure that even a snippet of the broadcast will be worth watching this year. The first round of voting ends tomorrow at 3 pm EST and Lil B’s name can be found in the Pacific Region.
